Susanne Pinto is currently a postdoctoral researcher in oral microbial ecology at the department of Preventive Dentistry (ACTA).

Susanne Pinto is motivated to understand the complexities of microbial ecosystems and their impacts on human health. Her research focuses on the temporal dynamics of the oral and gut microbiome and how these are influenced by sociocultural factors, behavior, and maternal health. Through her analyses, she aims to identify factors that support oral and metabolic health, particularly during the first 1000 days of life. These results will provide data and information for in silico and in vitro modeling.
