During the second Microbiome Friday Seminar of this academic year, we invited Nienke Slagboom. She is a Medical Anthropologist and Dramatherapist at the Leiden University Medical Centre, Department of Public Health and Primary Care. She presented her work entitled “Turning the tide: intergenerational transmission of health disparites through the lens of syndemics theory” .
For this occasion Nienke changed the title of her presentation to “Health inequity across generations: an ethnographic and epidemiological study of persistent health disparities in a Dutch former fishing community” linking it to the interdisciplinarity within our RPA and making the presentation interesting to everyone involved within the RPA.
We enjoyed drinks together afterwards and shared stories and research with each other.
