Bio Arnoud Paul Verhoeff 

Arnoud Paul Verhoeff (1960, epidemiologist) is working at the Public Health Service Amsterdam, the Netherlands, presently as director of Sarphati Amsterdam, an Amsterdam based research institute focusing on the prevention of non-communicable diseases.

Before that he was head of the department of Epidemiology, Health Promotion and Care Innovation within the Public Health Service for more then 20 years. In 1994 he got his phd at the Erasmus University Rotterdam, the Netherlands. After his phd he spend one year as visiting scientist at the Harvard School of Public Health in Boston, United States of America. Since 2006 he is also appointed as professor of Urban Health and Health Care at the Department of Sociology of the University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

His research focusses on health, health care and demand in urban populations.
