Microbiome Friday Seminar – 29 November 2024

Every month between 3:00 and 5:00 PM all researchers involved in interdisciplinary research on personal microbiome health from the member faculties of our RPA are welcome to meet and share their successes and challenges, as well as discuss their projects with with each other at the Institute of Advanced Study (IAS). Join us for for an insightful presentation related to microbiome research by invited speaker.

The program for this event is as follows:
– 14:45 – 15:00: Walk-in, tea, coffee
– 15:00 – 15:30: A talk by Jianbo Zhang, PhD
  • Jianbo is a tenure-track assistant professor at the Department of Molecular Biology and Microbial Food Safety, Swammerdam Institute for Life Sciences of the University of Amsterdam (UvA), and associate of Amsterdam University Medical Center, location AMC. He will present how to model host-microbiome interactions using an organoid-derived gut microphysiological system called GuMI and synthetic microbial communities. This advanced human gut model is potentially useful for many fields of microbiome and biomedical research.
