SUMMARY:Microbiome Friday Seminar - 17 May 2024
DESCRIPTION:Every month between 2:30 and 6:00 PM all PhD students and post-docs involved in interdisciplinary research on personal microbiome health from the member faculties of our RPA are welcome to meet and share their successes and challenges\, as well as discuss their projects with their supervisors at the Institute of Advanced Study (IAS). \nIn our next seminar\, we wilI have Roberta Raffaetà as our guest speaker presenting her work titled “The microbiome across data and across disciplines”. Roberta Raffaetà is associate Professor of Socio-cultural Anthropology at the Department of Philosophy and Cultural Heritage\, Ca’ Foscari University of Venice\, and Deputy Director of NICHE (The New Institute: The Centre for Environmental Humanities). She studies how science is undergoing transformations in the midst of socio-ecological crisis and technological revolutions. Her work lies at the intersection of medical anthropology\, environmental anthropology/political ecology and science and technology studies. Since obtaining a PhD at the University of Lausanne\, she has worked at various universities in Italy and abroad (UCLA\, UCSD\, Monash Melbourne\, Lausanne). Her research has been funded by the European Commission (Marie Curie and ERC)\, Fulbright (Schuman)\, The Italian Ministry of Research (FARE\, PRIN\, PNRA)\, Wenner Gren and Parco Adamello Brenta. She currently coordinates the ERC project HealthXCross. \n We will enjoy drinks together afterwards and share stories and research with each other. See you there! \n  \n  \n
